Ward springs

Ward springs were used in padlocks from the time of the Great Migration on. Initially they were only double springs, but later more were used. During the Middle Ages, packages of four, six or up to eight ward springs were used.

Plate springs

In door locks, plate springs can serve as push springs, compression springs or lever springs.

Helical compression springs

Helical compression springs are found in many different padlocks from the 17th century on. Particularly in new inventions such as screw locks, Brahma locks, cylinder locks, etc.
